Orange Poppyseed Loaf


My mom is hosting a get together soon and wants some muffins or breakfasty type foods to freeze in preparation. Obviously ‘fresh is best’… but in order to save some time freezing foods can really come in handy (and it is a lot better than buying from the grocery store bakery section-even though that 50% rack is tempting). Orange poppyseed loaf is great because it is sweet, crunchy and citrusy. Everything you want to wake up with!

 Whenever I am in the kitchen I always make a little bit extra so I can bring it to someone… or just eat it myself…


 This loaf really turned out great. The glaze on the top adds a little more sweetness to the loaf. Hope you enjoy!

  1. Anna when you say “flour” what type do you mean. I know there are a TON of different types, so I was wondering if you could specify. Thanks!

    • Hi Dee, Thanks for your remarks!
      The story on flour. The differences between all flours have to do with protein. The protein in the flour creates gluten which in basic terms determines whether your end result is delicate or more tough.

      For this recipe I used an all-purpose unbleached flour. You could use a cake flour if you like but if you don’t have any on hand all-purpose is fine. For more reading on flours check out this link,
